KATHY DURST
Kathy Durst married Robert in 1973. They moved to Vermont and opened a natural food store. Durst was pressured by his father to return to Manhattan to work in the family business, where the family owned many prominent skyscrapers in the city. Durst did not want to work in the business.
Kathy was last seen alive on January 31, 1982, where she visited a friend and relayed that her marriage was in trouble. Robert Durst was having an affair at that time and living in a separate apartment. Durst officially divorced Kathy in 1990.

MORRIS BLACK
Black and Durst met in Texas while Durst was in hiding, living as a mute woman by the name of Dorothy Ciner. The two became friends. Durst says he did this to avoid media attention as the case of Kathy Durst was reopened.
Morris Black was found dismembered in Texas' Galveston Bay. Robert Durst was arrested not long after the discovery and was charged with Black's murder. He posted the $300,000 bail and fled. On October 16th, a warrant was issued for Durst's arrest after missing a court date. He was arrested November 30, 2001 after being caught stealing a chicken sandwich and Band-Aids, in spite of the fact that he had $500 cash in his pocket. A search of his car yielded $37,000 in cash, Black's South Carolina driver's license, guns, and marijuana.
Durst claimed self defense and was sensationally acquitted. There were no charges brought against Durst for abuse of a corpse and a female juror said that they went by the law when deciding murder. They were not allowed to consider the dismemberment in their deliberations.

SUSAN BERMAN
Susan Burman was murdered execution style on December 24, 2000. She is believed to have knowledge of Kathy's disappearance and had been contacted shortly before her murder to give an interview to investigators about what she knew. Prior to her murder, Durst had sent her $25,000.
DURST WAS ARRESTED ON MARCH 14, 2015 FOR AND CHARGED WITH 1ST DEGREE MURDER IN SUSAN'S DEATH ON A WARRANT OUT OF LOS ANGELES, CA.
He is currently being held without bail in New Orleans, LA pending trial for weapons and drug charges. He will face trial in Louisiana before he will be extradited to California to face the murder charge.
